Re-Reading David's opinion page
Posted: 06 Mar 08 7:34 AM

Hey guys I was just re-reading David's Opinion page and I was reading what he stated about the right to declare war. I totally agree with him. Our leaders are tyring to get our minds off one very important issue facing this Nation: The Resession. That's right folks we are now in a full blown Resession. Look at where the economy is at right now. Real Estate has not been this bad since the Great Depression. Read the N.Y. Times you'll find out what I mean. Back to the main subject;  We have been at least three major wars since World War 2. Will we make that same mistake again in the 21st Century? I know we will because If I know history the U.S. will most likley go bankrupt fighting major wars all over the world. Wait a second, we are in debt. The last I heard, we are 20 trillion dollers in debt that we own to China. I hope that the U.S. will stop this agression that it is causing all over the world. Now I do support the war on Terror, I just don't like it when we kick someone's ass who did nothing. I'm just trying to say this: The U.S. should step up to the  international plate and solve all of it's problems  through talking. That does not say that I am anti war ( Even though I am in Iraq) If we have to kick someone's ass it should be CHINA. I do not like China one bit. They steal our jobs and half of my family have lost jobs because of this. So, David I agree with you.

Skinker, now just you dry those eyes, suppress those sighs, stiffen your lips and straighten your hips.  This country's been through recessions many times before today.  They used to be known as "depressions," and ones in the past have been far worse than anything that's happened in yours or my lifetimes, and the country has survived and prospered.  Economic turndowns tend to come in cycles anyway and I don't think anyone agrees on what causes them.  And don't forget, a person's view of the economy depends on where he lives.  Not all regions are depressed economically at the same levels at the same time.

Attack China?  Don't even go there.  They today are nowhere near as menacing to our freedoms as the Russians were and look what happened to the Soviet Union, it imploded from the weight of its topheavy bureaucracy and oppressive control apparatus.  What hastened its demise is that the Soviet system simply could not compete with ours on any level.  China will do the same, all we have to do is remain strong and bide our time.  That's because free societies always trump dictatorships.  Dictatorships can be a big problem and cause lots of trouble but they aren't in for the long run.  They stifle initiative and dissent and can't compromise or change.  Count up all the oppressive political systems that have arisen since 1776 and see how many of them are still here, but we still are.  That should tell us something.

Democracies collapse too but usually they do that to themselves.  Because you're free doesn't always mean you're smart.  Good people give away their farms every day.

So hang tight Skinker.  You're gonna hang anyway but may as well do it with a smile.

Well now I am concerned that China might buy out most of our economy. Did you know that China shot down a Space satilite before we did? So, if we even do go to war with China all of our Satilites will be shot down. We really do rely too much on GPS's.

skink, China also accidently drop one of their gigantic rockets on top of one of their own towns, testing a vehicle to put one of their own men in space, killing hundreds from the poison fuel and explostion...i dont put too much faith in Chinas test flights, they was just shaking an dull saber, trying to keep up with the rest of the world...how many of those sat killers do you think they actualy have operational? we have our own ways to kill a sat from the navy aegis crusiers to the F-15 with a special munition package, to ground based missiles....let alone a few operation Anti missile laser test beds, one is a modified 747 with a chem laser and the other i cant get any hard data on...along with the Aegis ability as an Anti-missile unit...fret not about that, anyways we're screwed..chinese have already had advance units in all major US citys since thge early 1800...but yeah, this country has been through worst and has always come out of it with our heads high...for now we are content with messing with china by helping Taiwan...
Belief is the hardest thing to fight...
