Well, you have a computer from 1999 correct? I just thought why not get a new one for christmas. Just a thought. If you do get a desktop, make sure it has Windows Vista or XP. Try to get 3 rams of memory. Do not get your computers from that magazine :"PC Magazine" They always tell me the worst ones to buy.

Say, where can I buy the vietnam books you wrote in the 80's? Can't remember the name right now.

3 RAMS? I think you mean 3gigs. Again Skink-a-roo do your homework. XP & Vista are designed to run on systems that have 512MbRam. So a Gig of ram would suffice for David's needs. PC's today boast about have 3gigs or more of ra, when in reality there is very little need to have that much since the software hasn't been designed to utilize more than 2gigs. Now if you do heavy graphics programs for video or picture editing then yes I suggest using more ram, but David wouldn't, from my understanding, be using any such programs. His is more of a glorified word processor.

Sorry, I always get Gigs and Ram mixed up. Read what I put on May 29. You'll see why I am a little crazy. I just wish it would stop hurting. Damn! Ok, just read what I put on May 29 and You'll see what I am talking about.

My computer isn't that old, I built this one earlier in this decade. I refuse to upgrade to WinXP. I don't want to have to go to MicroMonopoly and ask "Mother May I" when I swap out components or upgrade. I'm thinking about Ubuntu. I also switched to AMD processors when Intel came out with the tracker on their CPUs.

Skink, see my post under General Night Fighters Forum.

Wow, you built yours. Is it easy to build one? Man, I'm pissed a little at my parents. They told me I can't have any games or go on You Tube on my lap top. Oh, well, I'll just wait until I move out of the house and I'll get all the games I want. Like Starcraft 2. Too bad NGF is not in print anymore. Did dan ever read it? I'll try to go on Amazon and see if they have NGF.
