I couldn't tell you -- I spend so little time here myself anyway.  I just check once in awhile to make sure the site hasn't crashed.  Which it hasn't in a real long time, thank you DotNetPark.

My wife is on a business trip to New Jersey, so I have a little breathing room -- though not much.  I have huge piles of work to do anyway.

But I took time to re-read the last installment of Starfist (PointBlank) a few weeks ago, and I am still impressed with it.  Our dear authors are being unfairly neglected by the sci-fi community, in my opinion.  They have produced some of the more engaging and interesting characters in the SF universe, and I consider my life to have been enriched by having made the acquaintance of such sterling folks like Ted Sturgeon and Charlie Bass.  And I am not kidding.

If any of you (and Eric I think I mean particularly you) feel you want to contribute to the general welfare, you might consider contributing to the Wikipedia articles on the Starfist books.  We started a wiki here on the site, but it never really took off.  In any case, Wikipedia is a much better platform for it.  Over the last few years I have a start on many relevant Starfist articles on Wikipedia, but most of them could stand some expanding.  I think the David Sherman and Dan Cragg articles are about as complete as they need to be, but the articles about the Starfist novels need work -- some of them a LOT of work.  Keep in mind that Wikipedia requires a rather more literate and neutral style of writing than much of what passes for wit and erudition here on SFHQ.

David Sherman
Dan Cragg

These two articles link articles on every Starfist novel that has been published thus far.

Ill look over whats here again and the wikipedia site for the starfist books, I was tired when I wrote a post a week or so back, but made mention I was a dune fan and that another author had written a "Dune Encyclopedia", with all that in entails. Another word could be Concordance, but I think that it would be warrented for Starfist, Fanfic based or Author Overseen, or both combined.  I have just been spending a lot of time trying to cram in some of the books in the huge pile of Military Sci-fi I have aquired. I paused a couple weeks back to inject some Heinlein and Arther C Clarke. I rereading Stranger in a Strange land and the third of 4 series from Rick Shelley (im trying to close out reading all his books).

I about up to do my yearly Original Six Dune reread, but those go fast. I need bust out the Starfist books again as well, but this time slow, taking notes on ships, units, characters, campaigns, equipment, organization etc, to better have things layed out for questions, etc. I will work towards that thru the rest of the summer.
