Military vehicles

D&D so far have introduced us to only three kinds of combat vehicles, well four if you count the eassy and the recon stealth version. Do you guys have any more in the future? Maybe a new acid resistant coating on them?

The future's too far off for me to think about it. David handles all that futuristic stuff.

Well David is doing one heck of a job. Just the fact that the APC are hovercrafts so they can go over any terrain is great. In book 3 when the marines hit the beach he even put in the little detail about the bounce from cresting the hill. I can guess that it was david that came up with the Marines always make planetfall coming in over the water to the beach landings too.

Yep, I'm the one with the traditions--including the "steeringwheel on a starship" in First to Fight. The Marines are already using hovercraft today, even though the navy owns them. They not only go from ship to shore, they can go some distance inland, though I don't know just how far. Aside from its air cushion, the Dragon is more related to today's AAV--Armored Amphibious Vehicle, the successor to the Amtracs (amphibious tractors) of my day. If the Marines wind up needing more vehicles, rest assured we'll devlope them.
