Speaking of military vehicles, I went up north this week and stopped into a military surplus store.  The Guy that owned it has over half a dozen vehicles from the old M880, M151, M35, M149(water buffalo) to experimental concept vehicles.  Spent a good hour talking to him about some problems he is having with some of the trucks.  He is trying to get me to sign up for the MVPA http://www.mvpa.org/mambo/index.php .  So I guess my question is are any of you guys mebers?

I'm afraid David and I aren't members of those groups.  I have friends who are reenactors, Civil War and WWII, and I say more power to them and all the enthusiasts like them.  In fact I gave a Garand and a GI .45 to a buddy who's big into WWII reenacting.  By the way, there's a guy out by way of Nokesville, VA, who maintains a fleet of WWII vehicles including many German war wagons.  Every year he has an open house out there and lets folks climb all over the vehicles.  He maintains mechanics to pull maintenance on the things to keep 'em running.  I have thought about going out there but never seem to find the time.  I have been to Aberdeen Proving Ground though, where they have a display of  military vehicles open to the public.  When I was last up there they were all sitting in an open field, exposed to the elements, everything, from WWI tanks right up to the newest Soviet APCs.
