Depending on who you listen to, the founding of the U.S. Marines Corps can be traced back to a pub somewhere on the Nor-east coast. What I would like to know is where and when our little Space-faring buddies came from. More importantly, of course, is why?

I can see you're in one of your "moods" again, TP.  Man, you've GOT to realize the war is over!  These other guys haven't read your memoirs.  I have.  You know what I'm referring to, "Panzer Fuerher, Kriegs Erinnerungen von Obersturmbahnfuehrer-SS T. P. Junger," Berlin, Arschloch Verlag, 1952, 892pp (reprint available from Scheissheimer Books, $174.23, 69 New Canoe Street, Gilbert's Corners, VA, 22151).  Just accept the fact that YOU LOST.

Tuns Tavern in Philadelphia, just a block or two away from the Marine Corps Museum in Independence National Park. The building is long gone, and there used to be a marker, but the last time I tried to visit the site it was gone. Must have been swiped by some jealous doggies or squids.

The founding of the Confederation Marine Corps was nowhere near as casual as the founding of the USMC.
