Most of the Marines I know would rather drink whiskey then beer. After German beer, American beer tasted like it was sex in canoe. Finucane 1932 posts Joined 1/25/2006 Re: Where is the Whiskey at Posted: 05 May 06 12:22 PM Winger:  I was stationed very nearby, Landstuhl, and drank a lot of beer (bourbon too, but that was back on base).  I never much liked German beer, tell the truth.  The stuff we got in the Gasthauser tasted like swamp water to me.  But the French beer we got in Vietnam WAS swamp water!  Still, in VN I had connections with the Aussies and the Filippinos and got all the Fosters & Resches & San Miguel I wanted.  Now those are beers!
