Deadders, old man, I believe you have striven so mightily to surpass me in posts that it might've affected your brain somewhat.  But I surmise this "Billy Bob beer" nonsense is a corruption of "Ba Muoi Ba." Vietnamese for the number "33," a very popular beer brewed by Brassieries et Glacieres de l'Indochine at No. 6 Rue Paul Blanchy, Saigon.  GIs mispronounced "Ba Muoi Ba" into "Bammebam," "Bameba," etc.  I admit, I never heard anyone call it "Billy Bob," but that makes sense.

And the growing joke here in my home town is this: "Why is the Rum gone!?"

"Billy Bob" was, if memory serves right, the name of the briefly popular beer named after Jimmy Carter's beer-swilling brother back during the Carter presidency.

Well your memory is still sharp. But that stuff tasted as bad as Pabst Blue Ribbon. Now for beer I will take a ParkBrau Pilsner (german) or a Cass (korean) beer and if all else fails JIM BEAM or SOJU
