Tatoo?
Posted: 08 Nov 09 8:38 PM
Hey guys I've been thinking about getting a tatoo for a while. I might get one, I might notm I'm really undecided.

I was thinking of having it on my back that says:

"StarFist" I'm thinking about it.

Sooo what do you guys think? I'm asking because in RL no one else reads the series.

The Prime Master read the message again. This time, by the time he finished reading, he smiled beatifically. The message included a great deal of information about the Earthman Army and airpower and their tactics. This was inteligence that would serve the Emperor's army well when it next encountered the Earthman Army. As it most assuredly would.......

When I was twenty years old, a lance corporal stationed in Hawaii, I decided to get a tatoo. A Marine Corps bulldog on my left deltoid. But I couldn't do it sober, I had to be drunk. So one payday I took all my money into Honolulu and proceeded to drink myself drunk enough to get the tatoo. Wouldn't you know it? That night, no matter how much I drank, I couldn't get drunk. Not right away, that is. By the time I was drunk enough to face the needle, I didn't have enough money left to pay for the tatoo. So I never got one.

Skink, before you express your confusion about why I didn't put the tatoo on a credit card: when I was 20, 20-year-olds couldn't get credit cards. You had to be a responsible adult with the demonstrable ability to pay off your debts before you could get credit. Unlike recent years when credit card issuers encouraged everybody to get more-and-more cards, and go deeper-and-deeper into debt. Which was a primary cause of the credit/banking crisis that last year threw the country into the worst financial difficulty we've faced since the Great Depression.

Credit used to be tough. My first wasn't even a revolving charge account (look it up), it was a line of credit at a major department store. If I made all payments on time, then I could apply for a revolving charge account. I was 28 or 29 at the time, married, and owned a house. Getting a mortgage, as tough as it was then, was easier than getting a credit card.

Well skink the ultimate decision is up to you but let me put it in another perspective. Tattoos are forever. So if you ever go to the beach and start walking around with your shirt off, the ladies may find it attractive at first. But as you age and start gaining some wrinkles, that tattoo will cease to please and you might have a little boy come up to you and ask why an elderly man has a tattoo on his wrinkled back that says "StrFrt". Now if your mind is still set on a tattoo I would recommend getting the Confederation Marine Corps logo on your arm or leg, but try to avoid the chest or back cause wrinkles are not pretty for tattoos.

"Some people say the clip is half empty... Some people say the clip is half full... I say shoot till your empty and reload the damn thing!"

Isn't the logo in the cover of book 12 and 13? Never thought of that, the logo is pretty bad ass

The Confederation Marine Corps emblem has never been shown, only described in the text. The emblem shown on several covers is that of the USMC.
