Welcome to this site!  Don't be a stranger especially since your observations are very keen, very keen indeed and we truly appreciate that in a reader. 

We are not surprised you noted similarities between the Imperial Japanese army's warrior code and that of the Skinks and are wondering if there is a connection or if the Skink culture evolved these practices independently.  That happens, as we are sure you're quite well aware.  Or is it that Japanese entrepreneurship (Toyota, Honda, sushi, Sony, Toshiba, you name it) has so impressed itself on us that unconsciously we, as former military men, have somehow absorbed the code of Bushido?  Have we, you may be asking yourself, been influenced by some kind of cultural subliminal advertising?
