We've written hundreds of characters into these books, and sometimes names crop up more than once despite our best efforts. As I was preparing the ms of Recoil to send off I discovered that we had a placename in it that was almost exactly the same as a placename in an earlier Starfist novel. We changed it. Madam Piggot Thigpen, the late representative from Carhart's world came to mind. I doubt this is it, but it's just a guess.
