What do they do? Is it just basically a Platoon sized Gun squad? Details please! While each platoon has 2 of the assault guns, the assault platoon carries 7 or 8 of the buggers. To put it in terms of today's weapons, the guns in the assault squads are bipod-mounted machine guns (think M240 machine guns), the assault platoon has weapons more on the order of the MK19 40mm (grenade) machine gun.
