Several books (so far) mention the Second American Civil War - what's the deal? I imagine a whole different series could be devoted to this topic.
Does the crack by the librarian in book V have anything to do with it? "Thank heavens those days are long gone!"
If so, I'm stocking up on ammo - I plan to change (future) history!! ;)
Funny thing, you never see terrorists attacking rural VA. Talk about a rude awaking! John Ringo has a story about aliens striking the pan-handle of FL. Over ran the local police but didn't count on the locals. Dozens of hillbillies slaughtered em. Pretty funny. Think the story was called "The Looking Glass."
Anyway, must have been a hell of a civil war to have the government located in North Dakota! You guys ever decide to put together a short story about it, I'm IN!
Deadshot.
If you guys do decide to write a story about the Second American Civil War, just don't nuke the West Coast (minus california and Washington... heh heh heh). I wouldn't mind if you nuked Kansas, or even Klantucky, for that matter.
Seriously though, About the tanks. You mentioned some serious tanks that, in my experiance, are called "Super Heavy Tanks." Honostly, with the M1 Abrams costing 5 million bucks, it's the most deadly non-self-destructing weapon man has yet created. (Women being the most destructive creation ever/forever no matter how many ways men might decide to kill each other, we pale in comparison to what our wives can do to us. Or our mothers.) I had a mental imiage of one of those Super Tanks you described, and since my brother (one of) in the is a Tank driver, I can tell you he'd love to drive that sucker in real life.
