Admiral Link's story ideas:

1) That's going backward.
2) You mean pilot it?
3) Been done; see _The Philadelphia Experiment_.
4) Apples and oranges. They've got totally different functions.
5) Terminator? More like Fred Saberhagen's Berserker books. Read them.
6) Different universe all together.
7) The acid shooters are too short range and not accurate enough.
8) Huh?
9) We already did a Star Wars book, thank you.

Well... I think the writers were just thinking that because the Marine Corps is part of the Navy, they assumed (and we all know what that does) that the Marines follow suit after the Navy Proper. . .

Heh heh heh.

The Marine Corps has always been an independent branch of the military. Your confusion is because it comes under the Department of the Navy. The CMC does not answer to the CNO, and is a full member of the Joint Chiefs.

Yes, they pilot the plane to escape. Oh and idea #8 is something close to Hangfire. Like one of marines go to some underground fight under a mob rule.

What ideas do you guys have?

Maybe the Marines parachuting into combat for night missions because the enemy has a missile that can destory the Essay and Dragoons. Maybe, have the marines invade a planet thats more land and air orientated. Since, we read only St. Cyr. using tanks only and use of infantry or rebels/ insurgents just use guerilla warfare or they are easily defeated by the marines discipline fire.

I have one I think could be somewhat logical considering where you guys have gone with the series but it really depends on how far out there you wanna go.  I'm thinking something along the lines of making contact with another alien race who allies themselves with us as mutual enemies of the Skinks or something.  Not to say it'd work but I'd love to see it.

Maybe like a race of bipedal cat-like creatures or something.
