Plasma vs. Projectiles

What are the advantages that plasma weapons have over projectiles? It seemed that a bullet can do more damage than plasma can. And does the plasma shoot bolts (like the lasers in Starwars) or globs ( the plasma weapons in Halo)

Plasma can be thought of as highly intense fire, which makes it a true hell weapon. Plasma also has the beneficial (!!!???) side effect of cauterizing the wounds they make, which means casualties don't have to worry about bleeding to death. Personally, I'd rather deal with bullet wounds than plasma wounds. The shock of getting hit with plasma is more likely to kill than the shock from a projectile. The plasma is more like globs than rays.

Wouldn't plasama bolt hurt like hell since they can burn through human flesh easily then bullets?

Probably not since you'd have your nerve ends burned away too.

Hmmm... Let's see...

Get shot by a bullet in the hip and have it come out your left knee after it ricochets around your interior making a mess of things...

or

Have a plasma bolt go straight through your hip, disintergrating your pelvis in the process and the rock behind you.

Is there a duck and cover option?

dude, your not thinking hot enough...plasma...is HOT...geting hit by a ball of plasma is nearly fatal every time...it would liberate all its energy on the first thing it hits...enough energy to blow off a limb or three...torso hits are instant kills...as it will cook the parts of you it doesn't char to a crisp...it wont bleed but the shock will kill you just as fast...but with plasma weapons a near hit or flesh wound would be a crippling hit... no real cover from it unless you can get out of sight... the bolt shouldn't droop so if you can see it you will hit it...if you shoot it everyone and their uncle will know exactly where you are...and the barrels will get hella hot...bullets you have a better chance of surviving...plasma will cook you five ways to sunday
