Ah ok. Wait so Del Rey asked your opinion on the cover and just blew you guys off?

And you even gave them drawings of Essays, Raptors, Hoppers etc and they still blew you off.



Do you have a art section on your website David, after all you made the universe so you know what everything looks like.

If you have the drawings please put them up on your website, I got every aircraft down expect the Essay because it's always changing.

In the very beginning, our editor asked for drawings of the blaster, the Dragon, and the helmet. They never got used, and I long ago lost the drawings when my hard drive got infected. Before Kingdom's Swords, the then-art director asked for a written description of the Skinks. Notice the difference between the Skink on that cover and the bug-creatures on Blood Contact. I also gave him a description of the helmet. The next three books did away with the goggles in favor of face shields. The goggles came back with A World of Hurt. I never made drawings of the Essay, Raptor, or Hopper. While I do have mental images of them, I have always preferred to leave their appearance to the imagination of the readers.

The thing on first to fight may be a dragon, I've always seen it as that.
