DavidS wroteShadowGhost1,Ignore Dan, he's just jealous because my diction is so much clearer than his. As to your question, I really don't remember the original inspiration for the demon speak. But it felt right. And different kinds of demons don't really speak the same way. A little twist I thought was interesting, and I hope you agree, is that even though people from different lands speak different languages, they and the demons can understand each other no matter what language the people speak.Damn, this is my third post today and I forgot to mention something in the other two. Dan and I will be at Balticon (the Baltimore Science Fiction Convention) over Memorial Day weekend. So anybody who is in that area, drop by and say hello. You can get info at www.balticon.org.
Oh, well. Yeah I did notice that the demons could speak with anybody regardless of language. I thought that was neat.
Will you and Dan be at Balticon all 4 days? I might be able to go on Monday, May 29th.

What was it that the humans fed the demons again?
And what's with the little naked fairies turning invisable when you feel them up? Nice imagination on that one.

Interesting background on the Lalla Nkouma. Thought the treats were something like that or sugar cubes. Never went into were the Jocks got them. Still waiting for the Gunny to come back.
Ok, will there me a map of the lands available? I tried to mentally draw one but the voices in my head would always confuse the directions. You gave great descriptions of the land so I really did make a mental map. Been a good year+ since I've read it but I can still picture the forests, the plains of the major battle in the second book. Also the major battle in the last book where the Jocks were advancing from the sea. Was that the inland sea? I remember the heroes were trying to go around it. Sorry for all the questions, I'm on a roll.
