ShadowGhost1,

Ignore Dan, he's just jealous because my diction is so much clearer than his. As to your question, I really don't remember the original inspiration for the demon speak. But it felt right. And different kinds of demons don't really speak the same way. A little twist I thought was interesting, and I hope you agree, is that even though people from different lands speak different languages, they and the demons can understand each other no matter what language the people speak.

Damn, this is my third post today and I forgot to mention something in the other two. Dan and I will be at Balticon (the Baltimore Science Fiction Convention) over Memorial Day weekend. So anybody who is in that area, drop by and say hello. You can get info at www.balticon.org.[/QUOTE]

Oh, well.  Yeah I did notice that the demons could speak with anybody regardless of language.  I thought that was neat.

Will you and Dan be at Balticon all 4 days?  I might be able to go on Monday, May 29th.

What was it that the humans fed the demons again?

And what's with the little naked fairies turning invisable when you feel them up?  Nice imagination on that one.

Deadshot,

I never said what it was the demons are fed. In my mind, I had something in mind on the order of rabbit pellets for the smaller demons, and dog treats for the larger ones.

Glad you like the Lalla Mkouma. I actually did have them naked in the original, but the publisher made me dress them in something. So I gave them the most diaphenous garments I could. They're loosely (very loosely) based on the Lalla Nkouma of Moroccan myth, a very seductive femal Djinn.

Interesting background on the Lalla Nkouma.  Thought the treats were something like that or sugar cubes.  Never went into were the Jocks got them.  Still waiting for the Gunny to come back.

Ok, will there me a map of the lands available?  I tried to mentally draw one but the voices in my head would always confuse the directions.  You gave great descriptions of the land so I really did make a mental map.  Been a good year+ since I've read it but I can still picture the forests, the plains of the major battle in the second book.  Also the major battle in the last book where the Jocks were advancing from the sea.  Was that the inland sea?  I remember the heroes were trying to go around it.  Sorry for all the questions, I'm on a roll.

Deadshot,

I had a rather nice map, roughly 2'x3' I used while I was writing the DemonTech books. I don't know, it may (I hope so) still be packed with the stuff I haven't yet unpacked from my move from Philadelphia to South Florida. I once tried to make a map for my website, but didn't have the right software to do a proper job. Without my original map, I can't accurately reconstruct it. I know; once at a con, a fan asked about a map so I drew one for him. It left out an entire country because I didn't remember exactly where it went.

The Jokaps (Jo-Kap-Kul) were coming up the Gulf from the direction of the Inner Sea. Spinner and Haft were trying to get to a strongly defended port city on the coast of the Inner Sea so they could get a ship heading in the direction of their HQ. In book four, should there ever be one, they'll get there only to find the city under siege by the Jokaps. But it's a much tougher city for the Jokaps to take than Dartmutt was.
