Not all politican s grew up with a silver spoon. Look at   Senator John Murtha, he grew up poor and he served in Vietnam in the marines just like Dan and David. Evil, if you want to rule the world, here is another tip: get into the news. The news tells people what they need to hear so if you control that then you control at least 50 percent of the U.S.    Hey Evil let me ask you a serious question: Do you know if the Army on Kingdom's used bullets? Is that the same thing as a fellecte?

True, not all politicians had silver spoons the day they were born.  It is also an exaggeration to say that they are all in it for themselves.  Some of them definitely are.  But there are others who try to do the best job they can.  I won't make any estimates as to how many are one way or the other.  But most of them at least believe that they have the best interests of the country at heart -- I refuse to believe that we are being governed by psychopaths.  But this is not to say that what they all believe about their own policy positions is necessarily true, that is, that their policy positions represent good policies for this country.

Most of the time we don't know for sure if this policy or that policy will actually do the country any good.  History shows that the road to Hell is paved with heartfelt and optimistic policies that had so many unintended outcomes (usually negative) that they policies were clearly (with 20/20 hindsight) crap.

I guess I'm just an optimist.

Hey, Boss, we're all optimists, just sometimes we are optimists about the wrong thing.

Besides, as long as there are a few good men to join the Corps, we're safe. As long as we doggies get to make fun of them, they're safe. As long as the Chair-force is there to be made fun of by everyone, both the Army and the Corps will continue to be friends.
