Along came this slender girl, looked to be about 19, with an early start on her day's partying. She stopped right in front of us and beamed. "You guys are so cool!" she exclaimed, then tipsied on by. As for Dan's idea that I had caught her eye: During the time she accosted us, her attention seemed to be equally divided among the two of us and someone standing between us whom only she could see.
