Ummm, enlisted service before getting a commission?  Now where have I heard of that process before?

AffectionateKwangduk, Let me be the first to greet you with that ancient cry of welcome; "YOU'LL BE SORR-EEE!" Don't let Receiving Barracks upset you too much, it only gets worse. But once you realize that the DIs aren't going to make you stand at attention while they flog you with a rubber hose, you'll be able to start breathing again.

And when you get your commission, bear in mind that boot butter-bars who pay attention to their senior NCOs stand a much better chance of surviving to fight another day than do those who don't.
