Yeah I have to agree with KB sleep on the way to Boot is a must.
My biggest lesson was just having military bearing (Its tough at first believe me... try watching the opening of Full Metal Jacket and pinch yourself every time you laugh... not so funny when there's consequences for laughing...) and mental courage... your mental courage always seems to outperform your body's capabilities.
To answer your question about what service I want to go into, I would like to get into the Air Force. I've wanted to fly for as long as I can remember. I don't really want to enlist, since it would take a long time to get up to be eligible for OCS and OTS, so I'm going to try to get into Embery Riddle University, which has the third largest AFJROTC unit in ther country. I am only going to enlist if I don't make it into a good university, but thanks for the tip about Boot. Next year, I'll be able to go for enlistment alone, without parental consent, so I guess we'll see.
