greetings from the great wet west

Hi all.  i've been reading starfist since '01.  This series alone got me interested in military fiction to the point i have dropped fantasy reading.  but since my local library has a limited sci-fi section i have re-read most of the starfist books at least 5-10 times (@writers: hence my beam space question)
i'm attending a local community college and will be graduating in december with a two year associate of science (computer network administrator).

I live in Olympia, Washington.  Memorial day was the first day in the past week that wasn't wet and considering that I walk to get around town, I've been kinda soggy lately.

oh well, its called the evergreen state for a reason

Hi Tolt!  You shouldn't give up too early on fantasy, since David Sherman has a military/fantasy series going called DemonTech (assuming you're unfamiliar with it).  There are some comments on it in the DemonTech part of the forum.  The series is currently stalled at three books while the publisher awaits more buyers for the books.  But it is a very readable and fascinating series.  Barnes and Noble on Olympia's west side has all three books on the shelf, BTW.

You might be interested to hear that I am also an Olympia resident.  It sounds like you're attending South Puget Sound Community College, which was my school also (class of '87!).  I work for the State of Washington as a computer programmer.
