Ralnakor's Grand Entrance
Posted: 14 Jul 07 1:07 AM
Hey guys.  I'm what you like to call the rookie, the new guy, the n00b for those of you enjoying your leet speak....I've been a long time reader of the Starfist series and couldn't help but finally bite the proverbial bullet and join the site.  I've stopped by the site a couple times during my readings and just couldn't help myself.

I suppose to begin my introduction, I should get into a little bit about myself.  Easy enough.  I'm a 20 (okay, 21 next Friday) year old Journalism major in my third year at Oakland University in southeast Michigan.  I currently work for a Madden video game fansite by the name of MaddenMania.com as the senior editor of their frontpage as well as an administrator on their forums and hope to use that as a jumping off point to get into a career in writing/editing for a video gaming magazine.  In addition to advancing my career with that job, which started off with me being a member of their forums some five years ago, I also referee roller hockey as I've played the sport for in excess of thirteen years.

That aside, I began reading the Starfist series when I picked up the book at my local Barnes & Nobles sometime shortly before the release of Blood Contact.  In a wierd twist of irony (and what propelled me from a fan to an addiction), a teacher of mine in high school also read the book and we would discuss the happenings in the books and I derived some joy in surprising him when the new books were released.

I hope to visit the forums more often and actually go from a very occasional observer to at least a frequent poster.

As a final note since I know they frequent the forums, I must compliment Mr. Sherman and Mr. Cragg on an absolutely excellent series of books that keep me coming back for more and have taken my reading hobby to a whole new level.  Keep up the good work guys.

May I be the first to say Welcome Aboard! I am the local perv I guess you would say, with a pinchant for writing myself. I majored in English/2ndary Ed although the loans killed me and I had to quit to makes ends meet. From reading our posts you may have also seen that I am attempting to write a screenplay over the series and hopefully will use that as a launch into my writing career and a pocket full for Dan and David as well. We welcome any and all of your posts!

Rally:  It is very encouraging to have another normal, sane person on this site at last!  David and I were getting tired of being the only ones.  Now perhaps we can get some useful and intelligent dialogues going here.  "Useful and intelligent" dialogues are ones that tell us how wonderful our books are.  As you might've noticed, even some of the other members have their moments of mental clarity but not often.  The only worry I have is how long before they get to you too.  Well, if you feel yourself slipping, just go out and buy 8 or 10 copies of our books and you'll snap right back to sanity.  Guaranteed.

Yes, but where's the fun in that?  What if I told them I'd already bought 8 copies of each and distributed them throughout my family?  Even if it was true, there's nothing bad about sucking up a little bit......maybe.....possibly.......
