Let's see, a LAV-25 is a LAV with a 25mm gun. What makes it a ULAV?

A Marine fighter named after Pappy Boynton's squadron! Right on, Gyrene!

I remember, surprisingly enough, a drunken night in Honolulu when I was out with two other Marines, all in civies. We were joined by an even drunker corpsman in his cute little sailor suit. The junior squid was having so much fun we kept trying to pretend we didn't know him. Damn, everybody's so uptight today that three Marines and a squid raising that much of a ruckus would probably get arrested for disturbing the peace.

In my experience, the best looking women in the military are in the navy, with the air force running a distant second. The army came in way, way last. The Women Marines were. . . well, some were absolute babes, others were, ah, I think I better not say.

But maybe things are changing. A few years back I went into an MCX with some other CAP veterans. At one counter, when the clerk found out who we were, she proudly told us that she was an active duty s/sgt in the Marines. My immediate reaction was, No you're not! You're too good looking to be a Marine staff sergeant.

Yeah, I definitively had a thing for Navy females in their dungarees.

And, I'll agree with your ranking of females by service.

Funny story:

My wife went to Oregon to visit family. On the way back, she saw to people at Sea-Tac. She called me up and described the uniforms. She said, "They look like Marines, but everything is black. What the hell are they?"

After she described them a little more I realized who she was talking about. "Those are your comrades, dork. Fellow squidlies."

Look familiar? LOL
