I meant an English teacher in High School. Not a translator. Since we both live in Miami, what do you think about the Marlin's new Stadium. I think the city should focus on education and housing for people who have lost they're jobs/homes due to the Resession.
The Prime Master read the message again. This time, by the time he finished reading, he smiled beatifically. The message included a great deal of information about the Earthman Army and airpower and their tactics. This was inteligence that would serve the Emperor's army well when it next encountered the Earthman Army. As it most assuredly would.......

Skink, I'm in Broward County, not Miami. I'm reserving judgement on the Marlin's new stadium. The stadium and its spinoff projects (the harbor tunnel, the trolley line, etc) are damn expensive, it's true, but the construction will create jobs, which will help some of the people who need work. Personally, I like the retractable roof on the place; I went to a Marlins' game last summer and got pretty badly sunburned. A standard arguement in favor of new stadiums is that they bring in tourists and money. Now if only the Marlins would field a team that could draw the tourists...

I'd love to teach writing on the college level. Unfortunately for me, college faculty have to have at least the same level of degree that their students are going for, and I don't have any degrees at all. For that matter, despite my body of work, I'm not qualified to teach in the Community School in Broward County. That's the non-credit, evening adult education program run by the school board. No degree, you see. A proven track record doesn't mean squat without the sheepskin to validate it.

What that means is that Shakespeare could never have taught at Oxford.  Teaching is a "closed shop," if you will.
