Hey guys, I just finished reading War of the Worlds. I thought it was awsome! So, what is your opinion on this? I like the red weeds.

Skinkeroo, I read it more than 50 years ago and I too thought it was great.  I saw the first movie back in 1954 or so and it was really scary, for its time.  The recent one, with Tom Blabbermouth Cruise, ain't bad either.

War of the Worlds is one of those classic books that everyone should read.  Sadly, I don't think it updates well...the fact they travel millions of miles and die of germs bothers me.  Wouldn't they expect that?  Wouldn't they at least cope with it better?

I wish I could remember the book, but I read a short story where when the aliens landed the whole earth senses something alien was there, "Gaia Effect" I guess, and instead of attacking the aliens the Gaia Effect caused all the animals on the planet including the humans to change.  In effect the invading aliens set off a worldwide 'antibody effect' with the end result being human then had new powers to defeat the aliens.  It was a good riff on the classic story, but it used up to date theories about genetics.

Look what I found. A cartoon version of StarShip Troopers. I've seen the show when I was a kid. Oh and by the way, a friend told me about this. He has seen the entire show on here. The first is "Pluto: 1"

I think I stand with David on this one. I really don't think Youtube is worth anything (probably because it's democratic... but that's another story) besides catching up with the local/recent idiot antics of the world.
