Skink, you haven't been to a Third World country unless you've been to a place where:
running water is in the river;
electricity comes in batteries, which people seldom use because they're very expensive and hard to get;
most people have never seen a movie or a TV;
and very few people have ever been farther from home than they can walk to and return from in one day.

Absolutely right that the government wants to keep us afraid of terrorists. If they can't keep the great majority of the people afraid that there is a major and immediate terrorist threat, the people won't stand for having their basic rights stripped away, as this administration has been methodically doing for the past nearly-seven years.

I don't fly anymore, but it's not because I'm afraid of terrorists--it's because of the paranoid nonsense we have to go through to get on a plane. Besides, I never did much like flying, and this is a good excuse not to.

Don't let it get to you David. I hate flying. really hate it when I am not in first class. Hell, I've never been in first class. I wonder what it's like. Knowing Dan, he's been to first class for his job with the military.

Doesn't someone on this site have an extra room in their house where they can give David sanctuary from that Florida government that's been stripping away his rights?  This is intolerable and I think someone should inform the New York Times or the Washington Post about what's going on down there.
