Posted: 20 Mar 08 7:26 AM

Finally got a copy, wasnt haveing any luck in the used book stores or on amazon (price plus shipping was more than local) so Picked up new copy. I havent read anything at all in the new Star Wars stuff, but since Im comfortable with  Dan and Dave I wanted to complete the collection( I dont have the nightfighters but looking into those). Will post review when done, gonna slip it in between the Ian Douglas books this weekend.

Be well,

Trang.

Trangers, well, we hope you like it.  It's "different," if you're at all familiar with the StarWars universe.  Lucas's people said they wanted to show Anakin as a general in command of an army so we wrote it up that way, none of these swarming horde attacks, no machines with a 60-foot profile, fire and maneuver is what we gave the SW fans & real, bloody combat as well as believable strategy and tactics.  In our opinion the StarWars paraphernalia only got in the way but we did our best to write around it.  Be very interested in your unvarnished opinion of whether or not it worked.  The diehard SW fans hate this book.

I had said I havent read anything in the star wars universe and have to change that abit, I havent read anything in the NEW star wars universe. I read Alan dean fosters "splinter of the minds eye, and a few of the early Han Solo books. Nothing in the post original 3 movies though, I really didnt like the three new ones, they got progressivly worse, and the CGI thing just took over the movies and really flat out stunk. I like the way you two write so I expect it will be good read, should have it done over this weekend, two books left to cover in the Ian douglas series, and plan to spend Sunday on Jedi Trial. Will post up review.

I used CGI in my mind for the Skinks, Dragons, Raptors, Essays and anything that Dan and David described. But no CGI was used for troops, especially the boys in the 34th FIST.  Hell, CGI is a good thing but that's just me.

In their review, Publishers' Weekly praised Jedi Trial for bringing "...new energy to the Star Wars franchise." They liked the fact that it wasn't the same old same old of the other SW books. Which is exactly what the die hard SW fans hated about the book. Dan did most of the work on Jedi Trial, and deserves the credit for it. I only did enough to feel justified in having my name on the cover. The byline really should have been Cragg and Sherman rather than Sherman and Cragg.
