Having only been MOS-q'd, I've been in training for the past 9 months. Having read ATTACKS by Feild Marshal Erwin Rommel, I can say with as much authority as any soldier in training can say, that according to what he has written, the field training I have taken part in could have very well been written by the Marshal some 70 years ago. The only differences are merely technological. Everything he describes in the fighting, from clearing a building to reacting to contact while on patrol... It's all the same.
A good read for those who wish to know more about World War One, a seriously mis-understood war.
