World War Z
Posted: 31 Aug 08 1:14 PM Modified By Skink on 9/1/2008 4:28:57 PM)

Hey guys I just got through reading the novel "World War Z" it is based on a zombie apocolypse. It all began in China when some villager's kid became ill by drinking from a polutted stream. Well the doctor goes and visits him and he finds no pulse on him. The boy then escapes the village and goes to Hong kong and bites ppl. Well after that, Asia and the rest of the mid east and africa become infected.

I won't tell you guys any more expect this:

1 The goverment is involved and you all know that I love conspercies

2. Corporations are involved. Sounds  a little like Haulover's Board of directors huh?

 3. The U.S. Army get's it's ass kicked in the beggning of the war. But they develop some pretty cool tactics. Colonial battle tactics any one?

Here is the link. But be for warned: You might get nightmares after reading this. I do, it's that scary.

i'll look it up once i'm done reading my current group of books, you should have the author's name when you suggest a book thou. I know, its in the link but still...Currently re-reading Semper mar, luna marine and Europa strike from Ian Douglas...

Check out "Ghost" by John Ringo, where a retired navy Seal saves the world...warning...some very adult situations in very naughty details are spread through out the seris of books, but at least he gets to kill terrorists...

also for sacry books, i always thought "Storming Heaven" by Dale brown, published in 1994, it comes close to home with terrorist running amok in the US... damn thing will keep you up at night wondering...

of course for more info Google it :P

World War Z broke down for me in one BIG area.

The Zombies are these limitless enegry machines.  They don't eat, they don't breath, and they don't break down.  Toss one off in the middle of the Pacific and it will sink two miles and then walk for five years until it reaches land then walk up the beach and bite people.

All motile things need energy, all things break dow until they don't work....except these zombies.  They don't eat, they don't sleep, they don't shit, and they run around like perpectual motion machines.

It was an interesting book in many respects, but that one HUGE flaw just bothered me.

Read the Zombie Survival Guide from the same author. I forgot but he put forth his theory on the varieties of zombies, movie zombies vs Resident Evil style zombies and so on. Essentially they would freeze in the winter and constantly decompose...

You're theory treats zombies as a living thing. Considering the topic a "willing suspension of disbelief" is certainly in order.
