Scourge of god

A new book in The Change story line by S.M.Stirling just came out. "Scourge of God" it follows the children of the main characters from "Die's the Fire" those born after the change. There adventure as they travel across what was left of the US and head towards Nantucket, the possible center of the change...Cowboys, Knights, Monks, Fanatics working of some dark higher power, Rangers, and Neo-Druids. Its an intresting mix of people... This is the 2nd book in a series starting with "The Sunrise Lands"...

I am a avid fan of S.M.Stirling's works in alternate history story and mixing of worlds...This line of books really starts with  "Island in the sea of Time" when the Event (their Change) happens and the island of Nantucket is sent back in time to around the Bronze age (1250's)...its all part of the Emberverse...

Sometimes I WISH the people of Nantucket would be thrown into the bronze age....it would make them far more pleasant to be around if they had some backbone.

hey everyone. been busy as of late. The latest book in this series "Sword of the Lady" Follows our main characters where it left off in the last book. More political subterfuge and questing to get the mysterious island of Nantucket... A few new faces enter the fray and Neo-Norse are found in the ice covered north east coast... it is a great sci-fi novel, and this one actually...well kinda explains in a rather cryptic way, just what the heck happen to cause the Change in the first place... but once again great story telling and once again i wait a year for the next book in this series...

Another series of novels that kinda follow this future time-past technology is the Safehold stories by David Weber. Off  Armageddon Reef , By Schism Rent Asunder and By Heresies Distressed. I finally got a chance to read the last book mentioned for the set and well it doesn't end there apparently. Great characters, great bad guys, i like the over all story line and once again also great storytelling. Of course once again I wait a year for the next book, March i think is the release date for "A Mighty Fortress"

So i you can wrap your mind around the old world tech in the future thing, and epic quests these are great reads...
