Harry Turtledove. He's an amazing author. He likes to do alternate history novels. Just look him up.

I'll second that motion. I like Turtledove's alternate histories.

Hmm... I have seen his books on the shelf near David Webers books forever now. I like alternate reality/history books, reading tons from Eric Flint, S.M.Stirling and David Drakes. What is a good starting book to get into his series of books?

Theres a civil war series by him. Cant remember its name, read it a long time ago. Really good.
The Prime Master read the message again. This time, by the time he finished reading, he smiled beatifically. The message included a great deal of information about the Earthman Army and airpower and their tactics. This was inteligence that would serve the Emperor's army well when it next encountered the Earthman Army. As it most assuredly would.......

I started with the World War II series that starts with "In the Balance" followed by "Tilting the Balance", "Upsetting the Balance" and "Striking the Balance" which then transitions into the Colonization series with "Second Contact", "Down To Earth" and "Aftershocks" and then concluded with "Homeward Bound".  Just a heads up, and this is not a spoiler since it is revealed immediately in the first book, this is an alternate of what would have happened if during WWII aliens had invaded.

I'm curious, has anyone else read this series?
