John Steakley's "Armor"
Posted: 28 Nov 09 2:00 PM
This is my favorite "non-series" novel. It takes place in a futuristic war between man and alien in the viewpoint of a soldier named "Felix". Felix pulled scout duty, the worst possible duty for the army with a survival rating of less than 10% per mission. The book follows Felix through his numerous deployments and details the psychological pressure Felix is under not only because of his deployments, but also because of his haunting past...

-I strongly recommend anyone who likes military sci-fi to read this book.

There will be a sequel.
The Prime Master read the message again. This time, by the time he finished reading, he smiled beatifically. The message included a great deal of information about the Earthman Army and airpower and their tactics. This was inteligence that would serve the Emperor's army well when it next encountered the Earthman Army. As it most assuredly would.......

I don't know if a sequel is the best thing for this book but I'll trust that John Steakley knows what he's doing.
