I've read it and re-read it many times. Have always loved it. The movie didn't particularly thrill me, from the standpoint of the book, but seen as a standalone it was OK.

I read it for the first time last year. Turns out you get extra credit in the Military History class if you read it. I think I'm going to reread it this year (when I'm actually in that class).

"Military History Class"?? Wow. Where you going to school, anyway? I didn't know they taught that in high school -- anywhere! Or is it connected to Junior ROTC?

Nah, it's not connected to Junior ROTC or anything like that, it's just an elective offered to juniors and seniors. I cannot wait to take that class though, my favorite teacher is the only one who teaches it, he's VERY pro-military and patriotic.
I go to Maumee High School in, where else, Maumee. For those of you not familiar with dinky little midwestern towns, that's in Ohio. Man, I wish I wasn't familiar with dinky little midwestern towns...

We used to have a "History of Warfare" at U.S. Grant High, up untill this last year. It was totally awesome...
