The Book of Words Trilogy (The Baker's Boy, A Man Betrayed, and Master and Fool) by J.V. Jones. This is a fantasy book that involves magic and sword fighting. The ingredients are classic; however, Ms. Jones writes in such detail and with a style that sucks a reader into the story. Also it is really easy to visualize what is happening in each of her books.
Sword of Shadows Trilogy (A Cavern of Black Ice, A Fortress of Grey Ice, and A Sword from Red Ice (not yet published)) by J.V. Jones. This trilogy is even better than the one listed above. There is a commonality between this trilogy and The Book of Words Trilogy. You don't need to have read the first trilogy in order to understand this trilogy though. The only thing that is a downside to this trilogy is that it has taken over 4 years (and it could still take even longer than that) for the third book to be published. However, the trilogy is still well written. The third book is closer to being published than it was before. It is getting editted right now, so maybe it won't take too much longer for that book. :)
