Non-fiction Don't recs

If you are interested in snipers and their stories and techniques, then I recommend that you stay away from the following book:

13 Cent Killers: The Fifth Marine Snipers in Vietnam by John Culbertson.  I couldn't even finish the book.  He makes assertions but never supports them with proof/evidence.  He doesn't cite his sources.  Also he makes some remarks that are just ludicrous.  i.e. He claims several times that Gunnery Sergeant Carlos Hatchcock does not exist.  That he was just a made up story given out by the Marines.  Also the other main thing Culbertson does in the first 30 pages, is plug the other two books he has written constantly.

If you are interested in the special forces of any branch then I recommend that you be wary of reading:

Good to Go: The Life and Times of a Decorated Member of the US Navy's Elite SEAL Team Two by Harold Constance and Randall Fuerst.  This, as the story suggests, is a personal account of Mr. Constance's service in the US Navy.  The book is well written for the most part.  However, as the book progresses, the story seems to become more of a place to whine about bad experiences than an objective account of his experiences or a well presented criticism of things that needed fixing in the SEALs.  I might have just read this book from the wrong perspective and just didn't get the point he was trying to make.
