Did any one get to watch this special Today?
I get the web site fine by clicking on the link. The song "the 8th of November" is about Niles Harris. "On 8 November 1965, Niles was a 19 year old army private in the 173rd Airborne Brigade who was shot down in a fire fight during his first tour in Vietnam. He lay wounded and bleeding for hours as 48 of his comrades were killed and hundreds more were wounded in a battle where they were outnumbered 30 to 1. At that point in the war this battle resulted in the largest loss of American lives to date.
Every year on November 8, the Purple Heart reciepient puts on his gray suit and drinks a toast in honor of his 48 comrades lost on Hill 65 in War Zone D, as well as all who have and do serve in the U.S. armed services." ( http://www.prilosecotc.com/8thOfNovember/downloads/8thOfNovember.pdf)
I know the first link did not work, perhaps you could try this one:

that is what the song is about. The TV special is About the trip that the song inspired. here is what the GAC network says about the special:
In this powerful documentary, Big Kenny and John Rich travel back to Vietnam with their friend Niles Harris to pay tribute to his fellow soldiers in the Nov. 8, 1965 battle in War Zone D. The duo recalled the story in their current song the "8th of November". This moving piece is a testament to American will power, heroism and friendship.
here are the times for the show that you can still watch:
