Posted: 26 Sep 06 2:18 AM What the hack man So im reading right and I read the first paragraph on page 12 and Sergeant Daly is buying 22 StarFist novels(I would be happy if they wrote that many books)  And the vids based on the Novels...  Are David Sherman and Dan Cragg thinking about making a Movies???!?!?!?!???!?!??!?...?!?!?!??!?  I need to know! please any info Finucane 1932 posts Joined 1/25/2006 Re: Chapter Two: StarFist Vids?!?! Posted: 26 Sep 06 4:52 AM  Corvus:  Well, thanks for the compliment!  But no, there does not appear to be any movie/video deals in our future.  That sort of thing is left entirely to the publishers and the producers, we authors have no role in setting up deals like that.  We might if we knew anybody in that business but the initiative would have to come from somewhere else.  We can dream, of course, and maybe that's behind what you read.  But when we put those references in we did it as sort of an in-joke.  After you've written more than a million words on combat-combat-combat, you get a bit shell shocked, know what I mean?    And you have to blow off steam by being a little comical so that's how that scene got into the book.  As to 22 books in the Starfist series, who knows?  We're almost finished with No. 12, FIRESTORM, and after that we have one more Force Recon book to write and then we'll be up for a new contract.  Keep your fingers crossed.  When it comes down to it, it's people like you who'll determine if the series ever gets beyond 12 books because it's our fans who keep authors like us afloat. I even brought it up with our publisher three or four years ago, but the idea was dismissed with a curt, "The Sci-Fi Channel doesn't have money for original productions." So much for that. Posted: 04 Oct 06 6:43 PM Well Ronald Moore is an exception. It has been Sci-Fi's history to start a very good concept...like Farscape for example and then loose the writers due to poor judgement or lack of leadership skills then the series goes south. I believe the Starfist series would make an excellent TV series but should be introduced in a film first then follow the film  story line with the series building up in plot to the next movie etc. etc. and the Sci-Fi channel has had a good running for that. I am also currently writing a screenplay for the series. But do not hold your breath on the outcome of it making it to the silverscreen.
