A major "States Right" over which the American Civil War was fought was the right to hold slaves. There was also the question of whether the Federal government had sovereignty over the states. That was the issue that the slave owners and other wealthy Southerners fed to the rank and file to get them to fight and die in a war fought to preserve the institution of slavery. Had the South been successful in the war, eventually there would have been a major slave uprising in which the Union would have been compelled to intervene. Great Britain wanted to enter the war on the side of the South in order to preserve the cotton trade. But a revulsion for slavery was a major, possibly _the_ major, reason GB stayed out.

Slavery would of died out eventually. During the 1870's to 1905, there was a great boom in America. So you see, if the South won, by the 1880's slavery would of been abandonded by the replacement of hard working machines. And, also the slaves would have a choice of going to the North and being first class citizens or staying in the South and being second class citizens. You know, in 2007 here in Chattanooga people came from all over the country for the "Secession" confrence. Secessionits wanted to break away because to them the U.S. is corrupt.

 

I beleive the West: Colorado, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Alaska and Utah will one day with in my lifetime try to break away

The Prime Master read the message again. This time, by the time he finished reading, he smiled beatifically. The message included a great deal of information about the Earthman Army and airpower and their tactics. This was inteligence that would serve the Emperor's army well when it next encountered the Earthman Army. As it most assuredly would.......
